Our button camera does not just capture video. The integrated MEMS microphone records crystal-clear audio simultaneously, picking up speech from up to 5 metres away even in noisy environments.

Audio Capture Technology

The audio system uses a micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) microphone measuring just 2.5mm x 2.5mm, embedded in the button housing alongside the camera lens. This microphone captures audio at 48kHz sample rate with a signal-to-noise ratio of 65dB, which is comparable to professional lavalier microphones used in film production.

Advanced noise cancellation algorithms running on the onboard processor filter out ambient noise such as air conditioning, paper shuffling, and distant conversations. The result is a clean audio recording that captures the primary speaker with studio-like clarity, even in environments with significant background noise.

Audio + AI: Real-Time Processing

When used in exam mode, the audio capture serves a specific purpose. If an instructor reads questions aloud or provides verbal instructions, the audio stream is processed through speech-to-text and fed into the AI solver alongside any visual captures. This dual-input approach means the system can solve questions that are spoken rather than printed, covering oral examinations and viva voce scenarios.

The audio is processed locally on the GSM neckband processor and never transmitted to external servers, ensuring complete privacy and eliminating any network latency. Answers are delivered through the magnetic earpiece with a typical delay of 2-4 seconds from question capture to answer delivery.
